Anthropic job index audit — map your tasks to automation vs augmentation
50k ft — Why care?
Download Anthropic's job index, combine it with the US Labor Department's O*NET task database for your role, and have an AI split your tasks by Anthropic's automation-versus-augmentation ratio. A second prompt builds a 90-day plan to automate the automatable parts and get excellent at the rest.
10k ft — Key takeaways
• Analyze your job at task level, not title level
• Automate what is clearly automatable now
• Invest in taste and creativity tasks AI does poorly

If you want the job audit prompts comment “audit” and I’ll send it your way
There is some real data to show this was an orchestrated PR campaign but that doesn’t mean they don’t genuinely believe the things they say. It’s like a weird SF culture at this point. Idk man I don’t live in SF but every person I know who does seems to be low key preparing for the apocalypse.

This Anthropic whistleblower guy wasn't lying. Go check out the job index that Anthropic published. First of all, Anthropic is mostly just worried about mass unemployment. Like you can download their whole job index, feed the file to your AI of choice with this prompt. It will combine it with the US Labor Department's database of every task associated with your job. Then divide up those tasks based on Anthropic's automation versus augmentation ratio. Which parts of your job are just gonna be clawed? Which parts do you actually need to be really good at? Now with this prompt, it will create you a 90 day plan to measure, automate the parts of your workflow that clearly should be automated, and then teach you to be really good at the parts you can't. Angus, what about all the end of the world stuff? Clearly he was paid to say that. You think this, you just haven't met anybody who lives in San Francisco. Thinking that AI will only automate all jobs and create a permanent underclass is kind of bare minimum belief there. What do I think, you ask? Extremely low chance of killing all people, but a very good chance of automating a good chunk of the tasks associated with our job. So that means your one job now is getting really good at the things that AI can't do well, which will continue to be a lot of stuff for anything that requires taste or creativity, by the way. So get out there, big dog. And follow your boy, you know, if you fuck with the not too out of touch AI take.
