50k ft — Why care?

Argues rules and skills written for older Claude models now hold newer ones back, citing Anthropic cutting much of its system prompt after Opus 5. Recommends a prompt that audits every CLAUDE.md rule and skill, deletes dead weight and rebuilds a lean setup; the prompt itself is comment-gated.

Comment PURGE and I’ll send you the guide There’s a hidden setting inside Claude that was written for older models and it’s holding the new ones back making them feel dumber use this prompt to audit and rebuild your whole set up. #claude #clean #automation #learnai #ai
Transcript excerpt
The rumors are true, there's a hidden setting inside Claude making the new models dumber. But Anthropic found the solution then instantly deleted 80% of the codebase to fix it. Let me explain why. Look, if you've used the new models, you've felt it. They're supposedly smarter but somehow feel dumber. They give longer answers, ignore simple rules, and just fumble stuff old models used to nail. And the guy who created Claude code gave it away. These new models are so smart that they don't need training wheels anymore. And your old setup is actually just slowing everything down and getting in the way. But the fix is to just delete everything. Get rid of your Claude MD, your skills, all of it. And his own engineers have actually done this by cutting 80% of Claude's system prompt once Opus 5 dropped. Now, obviously don't go deleting anything manually. That's a little crazy. Instead, use a prompt like this to audit every rule and skill you have and find and delete the dead weight so you can rebuild a clean setup. And I actually ran this audit on my own system and it found 500 rules that I didn't need plus it rebuilt my entire setup into one page so that nothing broke. And honestly, Claude's been running better than it ever has before after this. So save this video and send it to someone who's always complaining about how dumb Claude feels. And if you comment purge down below, I'll send you the exact prompt so you can run this yourself. And make sure to follow me because I'm…
