Self-improving startup — Loom transcripts to Claude skills to scheduled tasks
50k ft — Why care?
A recipe for automating a repetitive business. First run each process by hand and record it on Loom. Then feed each transcript to Claude to write a skill, run the skills manually and patch them when they fail, and finally put each skill on a scheduled task. As an advanced step, skills log their own failures and a meta-skill fixes the others, in the spirit of YC's 'self-improving startup' and Hermes Agent.
10k ft — Key takeaways
• Do the process by hand first, then record it, because the transcript becomes the skill spec.
• Have skills log their issues and add a fixer skill that improves the others.
• Run new skills under supervision until they stop failing, then schedule them.
5k ft — Tools & techniques
Claude, Hermes Agent, Loom, Obsidian
scheduled agents, self-healing skills, skill authoring from transcripts
1k ft — Deep-dive / try it
YC just put out this new video talking about the concept of a “self improving startup” shit got me inspired. I’ve seen some really sick setups of people who have agents monitoring every skill that’s run and improving it as it goes. Kinda like Hermes Agent. Crazy times.

Something broke when a one person pharmacy started making more money than every AI startup remember this guy from like a month ago How does one AI automate an entire ass company choose an industry where like the same tasks happens a thousand times a day Oh, this one's probably perfect now go get all the software that you need go connect all of it to cloth first You got to run the business a little bit manually pretend AI doesn't exist yet once you've got the swing of things start recording Loom videos of yourself doing every process make each loom video one at a time Copy the transcript for each give the transcript of the loom video to cloud with this prompt Oh, make sure it uses the software that you connect cloud is going to create a series of these things called skills They're like little awesome AI cookbook run these skills fully manually for a while Help all probably fuck up eventually when they do just give cloud this prompt and just kind of keep doing that until they don't really Fuck up anymore go find this schedule setting and clock create a series of scheduled tasks for each skill and have like this is the prompt And then just let all of them rip do you want to get really crazy? You can have it do some shit like that like whenever the skill detects an issue it can log it in some sort of software Then have a skill that then auto fixes all the skills, but that's a story for another time Congratulations, you are now basically this guy
