Claude Code room-color probe — turning iPhone footage into a 3D color map

50k ft — Why care?

Built entirely with Claude Code: a probe sweeps iPhone clips of a room, locks onto objects and samples dominant color, luminance and position for 42 captures, then redraws them as a living color map and 3D data. Part of a workflow for turning taste and mood boards into reusable design-system data.

10k ft — Key takeaways

• Captured taste data can be re-rendered as 2D maps or 3D scenes • Mapping your design system thoroughly lets an AI recombine components reliably • Sample color and luminance per tracked object to turn a real space into a palette dataset

5k ft — Tools & techniques

Claude Code color sampling, object tracking, taste-to-data design system

1k ft — Deep-dive / try it

I did this all with Claude code. This is what it looks like when you thoroughly map your design system and use it collaboratively with an AI. In my last video, I showed you how I extract data from mood boards to create individual components that can be recombined with various tools in order to give you the exact output that you’re looking for repeatedly.. everything in this video comes from iPhone clips of the room a probe sweeps the footage locks onto objects and detects and samples, the color and brightness at each one. There are 42 captures each logged with its dominant color luminous and position, and then re-drawn as a living color map of the room and turned into 3-D data. The whole point is that once you turn your taste into data, you can rebuild it into anything…
