PostHog interest-segmented landing pages — personalize by visitor behavior

50k ft — Why care?

Sponsored PostHog post: install PostHog, let two weeks of visitor sessions accumulate, then prompt an AI to cluster visitors into interest groups (e.g. sales vs. support features) and generate a landing-page variant per group that returning visitors see. Also argues flashy animated landing templates convert poorly.
UI/UXmarketingprompt engineering

10k ft — Key takeaways

• Animated templates can hurt conversion; measure before shipping looks. • Segment returning visitors by first-click behavior and serve a tailored page. • This is a paid ad (#teamposthog); prompts gated behind a comment.

Transcript excerpt
Founders are eavesdropping on their customers through their websites. Don't tell anybody, but download any animated landing page template. Literally just replace the original copy with your website copy. Welp, my website conversion's plummeted. Get this platform right here. Install it on your original website with this prompt. Wait two weeks, now run this prompt. It's gonna look at everybody who visited your site in the last two weeks. Look at how they used your site and put them into different interest groups. Like say you sell a CRM. If they immediately check out the sales features, they're in the sales group, versus if they immediately check out the customer service section. Now run this prompt. It will create a new version of the landing page for each interest group. This final prompt will install this system on your landing page. If somebody visits your landing page and gets tagged as sales interest or any other interest, the next time they return it will show the version of your landing page custom built for their interest group. I learned the hard way that cool animated websites convert like absolute dog shit. Now it isn't really a good idea to use them. It is a good idea to follow me, your boy instead. I will keep open sourcing all of my AI ideas.
