50k ft — Why care?

Instead of OpenAI's $230 hardware controller for babysitting coding agents, the creator had Claude build a MacBook notch app showing which agents are working, need attention or are done, with jump-to-session and permission approvals. Build guide is comment-gated.

Transcript excerpt
Sam Holman just wasted 6.5 billion dollars building a glorified desk toy and got clowned on by Vibe Coors who built a better version for free. Let me show you. Last week, opening eyes, incredibly hyped up hardware product dropped and it was a $230 keyboard nobody asked for with six keys that blinked different colors. To be fair, this did sell out and it does solve a real problem because when you run multiple agents you end up becoming a babysitter watching multiple terminals just guessing which one needs your attention. But the issue is this isn't a hardware problem, it's a software problem. And it really seems like Sam Holman just asked Chad TPT if this was a good idea that spent 6.5 billion dollars building something that really just needed a few lines of code. And to prove it, I gave Claude a few prompts and it built me a MacBook Notch tool that does everything Sam's keyboard does. It works by showing me which agents are working in my notch, then which ones need my attention, and which ones are done. It can even take me to the exact session I'm working in and approve permissions all from this little dashboard here. Now, real talk here, this took me about a day to build, but it works exactly the way I need it to. It makes managing all my agents so much easier, and it was free to build. And I actually put together a full build guide showing you how to set this up yourself. So save this video and send it to someone who's drowning in agents. If you want the guide, comment…
