I’ve been dying to get Claude Voice mode on mobile connected to Claude Code, and I finally figured out a (hacky) way to do it. Which means you can access Claude Code in a way that is: Conversational, Hands-Free, and Mobile! It allows me to walk around with my AirPods in and brainstorm with Claude Voice Mode whenever I have an idea, without taking my phone out of my pocket. Then I just tell Voice Claude to send a task to Claude Code and it starts working on it. I do my best thinking when I’m walking outside, so this has been a desire of mine since chatGPT voice mode came out. This is obviously something that is best left to the big AI companies to do properly, since they own both ends of this process, and I think it’s crazy they haven’t already. But until then, I’ll be using this hack w…
Transcript excerpt
I just made this game called Infinite Orbit. It's pretty fun to play, but I didn't really make it to play it. I made it to prove a point about the way that I made it, because I made this project with these. I made this game with my voice, but this time I wasn't talking to Claude Coda, I was talking to this Claude on my phone, and about half of the game was made while I was walking around the city. There's no push to talk, there's no reading, text responses from Claude, or just conversation. You might be like, why does that matter? Well, this Claude can't write any code. Like over here you've got powerful coding agents, but over here you've got real-time, hands-free, bidirectional voice communication, which is really amazing for refining ideas and hearing suggestions I wouldn't have thought of on my own. And crucially for me, it's mobile. As far as I know, nobody's built away for these two things to talk to each other. Like, Claude Coda's voice mode is not mobile or bidirectional. Dispatch and co-work isn't conversational. Open Clause for sure are going to do this, but their mobile apps aren't out yet. And I'd love to be proven wrong, I just haven't come across a project that's closed this loop, and that really surprises me. You know how long it was since I made this video where I was using AI voice mode to send code to an environment where it could be acted upon? It's almost two years. So yeah, I find myself once again building my own bridge between the two to try to show…
