Oil curve back end — watch December CLZ26, not spot, alongside bond yields
50k ft — Why care?
The trader argues the signal is the long end of the crude futures curve: compare spot /CL with December 2026 /CLZ26, which is breaking out toward $100, and ties that repricing to global bond yields rather than war headlines.
10k ft — Key takeaways
• Back-month repricing signals a persistent shock, not a spike.
• Cross-check with long bond yields.
• Track deferred futures (e.g. CLZ26), not just front-month spot.

It’s about the BONDS not the BOMBS. This is the real oil price you should be tracking.
Transcript excerpt
Wall Street does not want you to know this, even to the point where I am banned from a Bloomberg terminal. The market responded again to the war today, but nobody is talking about the most important part. The long end of the oil curve is starting to reprise. If you put slash CL on futures, you will see the current month's price. Go to any website, price of oil, you will see the spot price, or something based off that current month future. Now, what I want you to do is go to the futures and type slash CLZ26. That is the December price. It is much lower than the current price, but it is starting to break out. This starts to price above 100 a barrel for December. You will see the market start to shift. The craziest part, this is all matching up with global bond yields getting blown out again. And this very well may be the reason why all of this is happening. It's not about the war as much as it is about the bonds right now. Pay attention.
