LightRAG + Claude Code — graph RAG over thousands of docs, exposed as skills
50k ft — Why care?
LightRAG extracts entities and relationships into a knowledge graph so Claude Code can answer across thousands of documents beyond its context window. Setup: Docker, give Claude Code the LightRAG URL and ask it to install; then have Claude turn the LightRAG server API endpoints into skills for direct querying.
10k ft — Key takeaways
• Convert LightRAG's REST endpoints into Claude Code skills for one-line querying
• Graph RAG scales retrieval far beyond the context window and can run fully local
• Let Claude Code install LightRAG itself from the repo URL

Transcript excerpt
Rag isn't dead, especially if you use LightRag plus CloudCode. Now LightRag is a GraphRag system, which means it creates knowledge graphs, just like you see here. So it takes whatever documents you give it and it breaks out the entities and the relationships between them. So when you ask questions to CloudCode and it's connected to your LightRag, it's able to actually bring these ideas together to give you deeper answers. And this can not be with like five documents or a hundred documents, but thousands of documents, well beyond what CloudCode can normally handle with its context window. Now setting up LightRag is super easy and you can make it fully local if you want. You just need Docker and you're gonna go ahead and just give CloudCode the URL to LightRag and say, hey, set this up for me and it will walk you through it. From there, it will create an entire web app for you. And one of the pages is the LightRag server API. If you tell CloudCode to turn these API endpoints into skills, you can then interact with your RAG server via CloudCode very simply. And I actually did a whole deep dive on this on my YouTube. So make sure you check that out.
