AI video generators: what creators actually use
As of 22 October 2026, Higgsfield is the one creators in our corpus use most, because it bundles Kling, Seedance, Veo and others behind one plan and plugs into Claude through MCP. If you want one model directly, Kling 4.0 and Seedance 2.5 make the longest single clips at 30 seconds, Runway Gen-4.5 has the simplest API price at $0.12 a second, and Google's Gemini Omni is the cheapest way in at $4.99 a month [17].

What changed recently
- Sora is gone. OpenAI closed the Sora app on 26 April 2026 and shut the Sora 2 API on 24 September 2026, with no replacement [21] [22]. Some platforms still show old Sora pages [1].
- Gemini Omni replaced Veo in Google's consumer apps. Omni 1.1 Flash shipped on 27 August 2026 [11]. The Veo 3.1 previews on the Gemini API shut down on 22 October 2026, and Veo 3.1 on Google Cloud retires on or after 17 November 2026 [16].
- Kling 4.0 launched on 15 October 2026 with 30-second single clips. Its API is not live yet [8] [10].
What creators used each one for
We read every saved post in the DejaViewed corpus that shows one of these tools in use and grouped them by tool. Posts that only mention a tool in passing are left out. One general tip holds across all of them: seed text-to-video with a starting image for more reliable results (Text-to-video tip: start from an image — @setupspawn).

The most-covered platform, and the one creators wire to agents. The two S-tier posts drive it from Claude Code: one runs a whole motion-design workflow through the Higgsfield MCP (You can turn Claude Code into a full motion design team on…), the other pairs Claude Code with Seedance 2.0 for marketing video (Claude isn’t just for coding anymore. I’ve been using it to run full…). Others use it for UGC ads at volume (Higgsfield — The craziest part is they have up to 70% discount on…), camera and lens direction in Cinema Studio (Higgsfield Cinema Studio — directing AI video with camera and lens…) and new camera angles from one photo (Higgsfield Angles — one photo → new camera angles via AI reframing). Four of the ten entries are sponsored Higgsfield posts with income claims we could not check (Faceless GTA 6 Shorts channel — Gemini + Claude + Higgsfield MCP…, Higgsfield MCP + Claude — 3D websites to sell to local businesses, Higgsfield plugin for ChatGPT — floor plans to 3D walkthroughs with…, GPT-6 Astra + Higgsfield — cabin photos to a walkable 3D game world), so weigh them lightly.

Creators value Runway for control and editing more than raw generation. Examples are its node canvas for branching keyframes (Runway non-linear video — node canvas of AI keyframes) and video-to-video for driving motion and expression (Runway Gen-3 Alpha Video-to-Video — precise motion control). A hands-on test of public text-to-video needed a few generations to land one prompt (Runway Gen-3 — hands-on first test of public text-to-video). The corpus has no post on Gen-4.5 yet.

Fewer posts, and older ones. Motion Brush let creators draw paths for up to five characters in one shot (Kling Motion Brush — direct up to 5 characters in one AI video), and a news post marks when Kling opened internationally with free generation (Kling AI — free international rollout of text-to-video). Kling 4.0 is newer than anything in the corpus.

Google's models show up inside pipelines more than as a destination. Creators automate an eight-part vlog with n8n and Veo 3 (n8n + Veo 3 — Telegram-triggered AI vlog that auto-posts to YouTube), and they animate between start and end frames in Flow to build Apple-style scroll animations (Scroll-scrubbed product animation — Apple-style image sequence with AI, Claude — Here's how to build it in 10 minutes:). The corpus also has the original Veo launch (Veo — Google's text/image/video-to-video model (Google I/O)) and the Gemini Omni announcement (Gemini Omni — Google's unified multimodal model family for video).

Usually reached through Higgsfield rather than directly. Creators use it for ad and UGC volume (Higgsfield — The craziest part is they have up to 70% discount on…) and for hero visuals in AI-built websites (Impeccable skill + Three.js — three-part stack for premium AI-built…). One low-tier post uses it to animate an AI persona (AI influencer pipeline — Claude-built persona monetized via Fanvue).

| Longest single shot | Kling 4.0 or Seedance 2.5 | Both make 30 seconds in one pass [8] [18]. |
| Image-to-video with fixed start and end | Google Veo / Gemini Omni | Omni takes a first and last frame, and creators use Flow's frames-to-video for scroll animations (Scroll-scrubbed product animation — Apple-style image sequence with AI) [12]. |
| Camera direction | Higgsfield or Kling | Higgsfield's camera presets and Cinema Studio (Higgsfield Cinema Studio — directing AI video with camera and lens…), or Kling's Motion Control and keyframes [8]. |
| Lip sync and talking characters | Higgsfield, Kling or Seedance | Higgsfield's Lipsync Studio and Kling's lip-sync tool; Seedance and Omni generate audio natively [1] [18] [12]. |
| Predictable API bill | Runway | A flat $0.12 a second for Gen-4.5, published per model [6]. |

Which one to pick
Start with Higgsfield if you want to try several models without several subscriptions, or if you drive production from Claude. Pick Kling or Seedance directly when you need long single shots and will generate enough to justify their own plans. Pick Runway if you edit and iterate more than you generate, or want a plain per-second API. Pick Google Veo / Gemini Omni if you already pay for Google AI or want the cheapest start.
Treat this as creator evidence, not a benchmark. We have not yet run the same prompt through every tool, and most of the posts behind it predate Kling 4.0, Seedance 2.5 and Gemini Omni.
What we could not verify
- Whether Runway Gen-4.5 generates audio natively: one Runway page says yes, and the Gen-4.5 help spec does not list it.
- Per-second API prices for Gemini Omni and Seedance are derived from published token prices, not quoted per second by the vendor.
- Google Cloud lists Veo prices per "count"; we read that as per second.
- Seedance 2.5's release date (reported as 31 July 2026 by third parties) and its limit of 50 reference assets per request.
- The daily free-credit amount on Kling's Basic plan, which the plan page does not display.
- Whether Higgsfield's older DoP model still exists; it no longer appears on the site.
