50k ft — Why care?

@tech.unicorn on Anthropic killing subscription-token access in third-party tools (Jan 9 ToS change), spiking effective cost from $200/mo to $500-$2000/mo on API. Suggests multi-model routers (DeepSeek/Gemini/Llama/GPT-4o) as the mitigation.

10k ft — Key takeaways

• Subscription-token automation is TOS-risky; use API keys for production agents

5k ft — Tools & techniques

Anthropic, Claude, Claude Max, DeepSeek, GPT-4o, Gemini, Llama, Notion, Open Claw AI agents, API integration

you on Open Claw? 👀👇SAVE THIS. I have an AI agent running my ENTIRE business 🤖 Team management. Content across 6 platforms. Invoices. Notion updates. All automated on a $200/mo Claude Max subscription. Then Anthropic silently killed it overnight 💀 (ok technically this was against their terms of use starting Jan 9th lol…) But still. No email. No warning. They blocked subscription tokens in every third-party tool. Thousands of developers woke up to broken workflows. The real cost nobody’s talking about 💸 → Claude Max: $200/mo flat → Same usage on API keys: $500-$1,000+/mo → Heavy usage like mine: $2,000+/mo 😅😅😭 → 2.5-10x price increase. Zero notice. Your 3 options right now (SAVE THIS) 🔖 1️⃣ API keys- same models, 3-5x more expensive 2️⃣ Switch models- DeepSeek, Gemini, Llama, GPT-…

Transcript excerpt
Anthropic just killed your open cloud agent and here's what you can do about it. Anthropic just silently blocked subscription tokens from working in any third-party tools with no warning. So if your open cloud died and you were on the $200 cloud max plan with OAuth, I'll tell you your options. We all knew this was gonna happen eventually because smarties like us figured out that you could get enterprise level AI usage on a flat $200 a month plan. Obviously Anthropic realized they were losing money on people like us and locked it down and now they want you to use metered API keys where the same usage costs like $1,000 a month. So your options right now are switched to using API keys and pay 2-5 times more for the same model, switched to a cheaper model like DeepSeq or Gemini, or build a multimodal setup so no single company can pull this on you again. That's what we're doing in the next video. Let me know which option you're choosing and don't tell Anthropic, but my open cloud is still somehow working with my max plan.
